Unemployed women are being offered jobs on X-rated phone sex lines by the Government-run Jobcentre Plus. Girls are told they could earn up to £700 a week if they are prepared to be naked and have sexually explicit conversations. Currently the adult chat line agency recruiting for the job, Faceclick, offers customers the opportunity to chat to 'just legal' girls through telephone numbers accessed via their website. But men, women and couples are being recruited to perform 'nude or semi nude' on webcams - in a feature the company promises is 'coming soon'.
Young jobseekers looking for clerical work were given applications for the work when they went to sign on at offices in Birmingham, Warwickshire and Shropshire. Faceclick also lists conversation categories like fetish, role play and domination. As well as explicit chats, job applicants are encouraged to perform 'activities that you feel comfortable with', when naked in front of the camera. A 19-year-old girl, who asked not to be named, said she was offered the job application when she went to the Jobcentre in Nuneaton. She said, 'My call centre job is coming to an end so I am absolutely desperate for work. 'But I'm not desperate that I'm prepared to perform disgusting acts on an internet sex line.' The ad has also caused political controversy, with Birmingham MP Khalid Mahmood demanding an official inquiry. He said 'I am absolutely flabbergasted. 'We've already got enough issues with young adults being used by unscrupulous people in the sex industry. 'To now discover job centres are encouraging unemployed people to get into this is almost beyond belief. ' |
