Adultery
The word Adultery has Latin origins Late Latin word for "to alter, corrupt": adulterare.
Adultery is a form of extra martial sex and can also be referred to as cheating. This actvity is usually referred to sexual intercourse
between a woman or man that was married and someone else that they are not married to.
Adultery is illegal in some countries. These tend to be places where the culture is much stricter than the west. In Dubai if a woman
is found guilty of Adultery she can face the death sentance.
The word Adultery dates back many thousands of years and has a Judeo-Christian origin. Adultery is also mentioned in one of
the ten commandments that Moses had.
The figures for Adultery are quite high 10–15% of women and 20–25% of men admitted to having engaged in extramarital sex. When the leading
condom manufacturer Durex's Global Sex Survey was examined it found that worldwide 22% of people surveyed have had extramarital
sex.
Of course there will be a lot more out there that would have not admitted it!
